Accepting Good & Bad
CHANGES THAT HEAL
Chapter 12 When we fail to accept Good & Bad. The world around us is good and bad, as well as the people in it. (Romans 7:14) We naturally try to keep the good and bad separated. In doing so, we create a split within ourselves.
Chapter 13 Learning to accept Good & Bad. We were originally intended to live in a perfect world, yet the fall changed this forever. We live in a world that is a mix of good and bad, and this is often confusing. People who can’t accept this often develop some of the following problems: perfectionism, judging others, idealism, depression, eating disorders, and sexual addictions to name a few. The key to spiritual and emotional health is both understanding our position in Christ and seeking the truth about ourselves and others, even when it is painful.
CELEBRATE RECOVERY
Principle 6 - Evaluate all my relationships; offer forgiveness to those who have hurt me and make amends for harm I’ve done to others when possible, without expecting any reward.
Step 8: We made a list of all persons we had harmed and became willing to make amends to them all. (Luke 6:31) Step 9: We made direct amends to such people whenever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others. (Matthew 5: 23-24)
“Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the alter and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the alter. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.” Matthew 5: 7&9
