Spread the good news - Principle 8

November 30th
· Principle 8 - Yield myself to be used by God to bring this good news to others, both by my example and by my words.
· Step 12: Having had a spiritual experience as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to others, and practice these principles in all our affairs.
· Scripture: Galatians 6:1
“If someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted.”
Matthew 5:10:
Ø “Happy are those who are persecuted because they do what God requires.”
Ø “God blesses those who are persecuted because they live for God.”
Ø “You’re blessed when your commitment to God provokes persecution.” Matthew 10:8
“Freely you have received, freely give.”

Storm Chaser

In pursuit of strongholds within

The sacrifice you want is a broken spirit.
A broken and repentant heart O God, you will not despise. Psalm 51:17

Calm before the storm…………….A sensation overwhelms me as I anticipated the chase. It was about to happen, but how it would transform….. I didn’t know. The tempest was about to arrive. The familiarity of my senses warned me to prepare in a moments notice. Then it transpired before my mind could comprehend the activity of this deadly storm.

Regurgitating once again to repeat my fate of unresolved conflicts. I gaze into my strongholds, visible in the wake of the storm. Branded with a mark of pre-destined desolation. Will I allow myself to be used and abused once again by mankind.............. or will I resolve. Burned into my mind with the lies I have chosen to believe and accepted as truth, I walk with conviction to interpret the misguided lies to be freed from myself.

Be careful you don't fall

November 23rd
· Principle 7 - Reserve a daily time with God for self-examination, Bible reading, and prayer in order to know God and His work for my life and gain the power to do it.
· Step 10: We continued to take personal inventory, and when we were wrong, promptly admitted it. (I Corinthians 10:12)
· Step 11: We sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and power to carry it out. (Colossians 3:16)
· Scripture: I Corinthians 10:12
“ So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall.” Colossians 3:16
Ø “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly”
Ø “Let the word of Christ have the run of the house.”
Ø “Let the words of Christ live in your hearts and make you wise. Matthew 22:37
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.”

Last Meeting; Blizard conditions created icy streets, knee-high snow drifts and of course the impossible accordian door to open with frozen fingers...............but the die-hard group
arrived. The focus was on forgiveness and my experience reminds me to pray even more on a day like this. Sharing was powerful and very healing as God revealed truths to break down
strongholds from the past. New-comers continue to arrive, so please come and bring a
friend.

Making amends

November 16th
· Principle 6 - Evaluate all my relationships; offer forgiveness to those who have hurt me and make amends for harm I’ve done to others when possible, without expecting any reward.
· Step 8: We made a list of all persons we had harmed and became willing to make amends to them all. (Luke 6:31)
· Step 9: We made direct amends to such people whenever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others. (Matthew 5:23-24)
· Scripture: Luke 6:31
“Do to others as you would have them do to you.”
Matthew 5:23-24
“Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the alter and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the alter. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.”
Matthew 5:7&9
Ø "Happy are the merciful … "Happy are the peacemakers
Ø “God blesses those who are merciful … God blesses those who work for peace.”
Ø “You’re blessed when you care … You’re blessed when you show people how to cooperate instead of compete or fight.”

“ If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” Matthew 5:6
Ø "Happy are those whose greatest desire is to do what God requires.
Ø “God blesses those who are hungry and thirsty for justice.”
