Can you say NO?

Wednesday February 8th
CHANGES THAT HEAL

Chapter 6,7, 8 What are boundaries?
With whom in the past were you able to discover and keep your boundaries? With whom presently do you find it difficult to keep your boundaries? God has given each of us certain talents and abilities and he holds us responsible for developing them. When have other people’s wishes or expectations kept your from developing your talents and abilities? What God-given talents and abilities have you nurtured? Which limits do you tend to overextend – your time, money, energy, ability, emotions, or something else?

CELEBRATE RECOVERY
Continuation of Principle 4 - Openly examine and confess my faults to God, to myself and to another person whom I trust.
Step 4: We made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves. (Lamentations 3:40)
Step 5: We admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs. (James 5:16)
Lamentations 3:40 “Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord.

CHANGES THAT HEAL
Continuation of …What is bonding?
What has your past/upbringing taught you about bonding? Often our fear of needing someone keeps us from forming deep attachments with people. As a result we find ourselves alone when life gets tough. How easy is it for you to ask someone for help, to confide a weakness, to need someone?
Learning to bond. Who in your life may be knocking on the door, wanting to enter into relationship with you? What’s keeping you from opening the door?

Principle 3 - Consciously choose to commit all my life and will to Christ’s care and control.
Step 3 - We made a decision to turn our wills and our lives over to the care of God.
Scripture: Romans 12:1 “Therefore, I urge you, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God-this is your spiritual act of worship.”
